Groups that took part in the Rising

The Irish Citizen Army was a small group of trained trade union volunteers (ITGWU) formed by James Connolly, James Larkin and Jack White in 1913. They took part in the 1916 Rising.

Cumann na mBan  (The Council of Irish Women ) was an Irish republican women’s paramiltary group formed in 1914 and took part in the Rising.

Fianna Éireann was an Irish national youth organisation which took part in the Rising.
